Prediction: 1 year from today, you will ‘converse with an AI’ hundreds of times per week.

You will feel capable.

It will make you lazy.

I also noticed a ton of people interested in AI—and it might help to have a translator, a storyteller.

Yep, we’re talking Artificial Intelligence.

1/2 Would you have believed, in 2015, if I had predicted that dinner-table hierarchy would soon invert itself?

Sure enough, now I’m the one nagging my parents about their phone addiction. (And grandparents!)

2/2 In 2019, I read an article predicting the Airpod movement.

It was January. Their 'Trends of the Year' predicted that by December, 70% of Americans would be using ‘hearables’ regularly.

…I didn’t know what the hell they meant by ‘hearables.’ 

Until later that year, when I ordered a pair of Beats earbuds. I was instantly wearing mine for work, on walks & hikes, while I mowed the lawn.

Even while hollering at my wife to take out her damn Airpods.

Just. Watch.

1 year from today, you will ‘converse with an AI’ hundreds of times per week.

You’ll be infatuated with the intelligence truly at your fingertips.

Or voice ;)

Informed decision-making will make you feel capable.

The power of habit will make you lazy.

(we just won’t notice the laziness at first)

Oh you’ll still ‘Google’ everything.

And,

for the first time ever, some of us won’t even be using Google for our search.

I’ve got your attention.

What about 5 years from now?

When you’re older?

Don’t you think we should understand the technology poised to facilitate your entire life?

Incredible technology that makes you feel incredibly capable.

(And secretly makes you lazier.)
